Back Acne

Back acne, or backne, occurs when dead skin cells and oil from the sebaceous glands block pores, combined with an overgrowth of a common skin bacteria, Cutibacterium acnes, which triggers an inflammatory response

What Causes Back Acne?

Acne on the back is commonly associated with sports activities that cause increased sweating and friction from athletic gear and clothing. A clogged follicle eventually breaks down and forms an acne lesion.

Like most other skin conditions, the amount of back acne you experience can also be dependent on genetic factors. Some skin types are predisposed to more acne, including back acne, than others.

The Problem With Back Acne

Like all forms of acne, back acne can be uncomfortable and embarrassing. When the acne starts to get in the way of your routine – or special occasions, like a vacation – it might be time to think about addressing it.

That being said, there is nothing dangerous about back acne.

If you are looking to heal and get rid of your back acne, there are a couple of different options you can use, such as Jet Peel, SkinPen, an AFA Clay Peel, and topical skin creams.
